Laguna Hills Area Description
The 2000 United States Census Bureau’s authenticated results show that Laguna Hills City of California has a total of 31,277 dwellers. The Laguna Hills City is said to have 29,403 out of the 31,277 total occupants who are at least five (5) years old and over.
It is further stated in the 2000 U.S. Census that Laguna Hills City has some 9,276 school enrollees, 436 of which are under Nursery school or Preschool; 455 are at Kindergarten; 4,069 are still at the Elementary (Grades 1 – 8); 1,974 are High school ( Grades 9-12); and 2,342 are in College or Graduate school. Apparently, the biggest percentage of the student population fell under the Elementary school which sums up to 43.9 % of the total. However, there are at least 2,902 of the total city population who are pursuing Graduate or Professional degrees while there are only 739 or 3.5 % who are only in 9th grade or below.
Out of the 24,071 residents of Laguna Hills City who are aged 16 years and above, there are 15, 057 or 62.6 % who are in the work world. There are also some 6, 751 16-year old and above females who are employed. Only 3 % or 715 of these people stayed unemployed.
Basing on the statistics shown by the U.S. Census Bureau, it could be easily inferred that Management, professional, and related occupations is the top most wanted occupation in Laguna Hills City with a total of 6,814 people or 45.3 % of the total work force population. The second in rank is the Sales and Office Occupations with 4,619 employees, then the Services Occupations with a number of 2,026 staff. The least populated occupation as of 2000 is Farming, fishing and forestry occupations with only 6 staffs. Not all employees in Laguna Hills City owned a car, thus 14,704 of them has to commute to work.
Educational, health and social services is considered the largest industry in Laguna Hills City with 2,611 workers, followed by the Professional, scientific, management, administrative, and site management services industry with 2,263 employed populace. Agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting, and mining industry occupied the bottom with only 33m people or roughly 0.2 % of the total working population.
Laguna Hills City’s per capita income is $ 36,133. The males who work full-time year round on 2000 has median earnings of $ 59,144, while the full-time females who work year round got median earnings of $38,761.
The households in Laguna Hills City, as reflected in the U.S. Census Bureau in year 2000, is said to be 11,208 in 1999. Majority of these units or some 50.8 % are for $1,000 to $1,499 .
There are 5,979 housing units out of the total of 6,725 which has mortgage while there are only 746 units which has no mortgage. The median monthly owner cost of those units with mortgage is $1,945. Of the total housing units with mortgage, 1,221 of the total population or 20.4 % of those amounted $3,000 or more.
