Yucaipa Area Description

Yucaipa city according to the US Bureau of Census has a population of 41,207. Based on the total population of Yucaipa it has 28.5% under the age of 18 years;7.6% for whose ages ranges from 18 to 24;27.2% for those from 25 to 44 and 15.5% for those who are 65 years and older.

And according to the same Census, there are 12,460 students in Yucaipa.5% of the school's population are nursery school and pre-school;5.7% for kindergarten; 46.85 are elementary school(grades 1-8);23.4% are high school (grades 9-12); and graduate or college school which is 19.1%. And there are 27.5% high school graduates, aged 25 years and above; and 8.95 who's got Bachelor's degree.

The city of Yucaipa has a labor force of 18,483 for the population 16 years and over. And the number of those employed was 17,264, while those unemployed are 1,183.While 8,341 female 16 years and above belonged to the labor force. And the number of employed female population 16 years and above is 7,726.

And based on the same Census results, there are 10,699 families in Yucaipa city. And 5.7% of these families have an earning of less than $10,000; 5.2% have earned $10,000 to $14,999; 11.8% have earned; 11.1% earns $25,000 to $34,999; 17.6% earns $35,000 to $49,999; 21.1% earns $50,000 to $74,999; 13.2% earns $75,000 to $99,999; and only 1.5% earns $200,000 and the median family income is $48,683.

According to the record of the US Bureau of census, Yucaipa has 15,156 households. And out of the total households 10.25 have an income of less than $10,000;7.7% have an income of $10,000 to $14,999;14.4% have an income of $15,000 to $24,999;12.7% have an income of $25,000 to $34,999;16.1% have an income of $35,000 to $49,999;17.1% have an income of $50,000 to $74,999;10.5% have an income of $75,000 to $99,999;8% have an income of $100,000 to $149,999;1.9% have an income of $150,000 to $199,999, and only 1.3% have an income of $200,000 or more. While the median household income in Yucaipa for 1999 is $39,144.

There are 10,699 families in Yucaipa that fall below the poverty status. And 5,963 of those families have children less than 18 years of age. Another 2,211 families also have children under 5 years old.

Still based on the US Bureau of Census, there are a total of 16,115 housing units in Yocaipa.10,212 are single detached units;394 are single attached units;1,282 are multiple housing units; and 4,161 mobile homes.31.5% of the housing units are built around 1995 to 1998; 2,910 housing units are built in 1999 to March 2000. After that no more housing units are built in Yucaipa.

Out of the 16,115 housing units built, 15,193 are occupied. And 922 units are unoccupied. And 7,778 of the occupied units are owner occupied units. And about 3,896 are renter occupied units.

And with regards to the vacant housing units, 192 are vacant for sale housing units. And around 267 are vacant for rent housing units. Out of the occupied housing units, 6,043 are mortgaged.30.8% homeowners have a monthly mortgage cost of $1,000 to $1, 499, while the median monthly mortgage cost for the homeowners was $1,200. And 1,735 housing units are not mortgaged.

Out of the total renter occupied units, 04. % have a gross rent of less than $200; 45.4% have a gross rent of $500 to $749; 23.7% have a gross rent of $300 to $499; 18.1% have a gross rent $750 to $999; 0.8% have a gross rent of $1,500 or more, and the median monthly gross rent is $610.

While the vacant for sale housing units, no unit have an asking price of less than $50,000 to $59,999; While the majority of the vacant for sale housing units have an asking price of $150,000 to $174,999; 16.1% have an asking price of $100,000 to $124, 999, and no housing unit have an asking price above $300,000 to $399,999. And the median asking price is $119,400.

And the vacant housing units has a rental of at least $250 to $299; 9.4% are for rent for $300 to $349; 30.7% are for rent for $450 to $499; none of the vacant housing units are for rent above $900 to $999. And the median monthly rent is $478.

Still based on the US Bureau of Census, 72% of the workers are hired privately, while 19.3% are government workers.8.5% are self employed or worked in their own business.

And 29.5% of the employed population 16 years and over have management, professional, and related occupations; 25.7% are into sales, and office occupations.17.5% have service occupations; and 0.5% are into farming, fishing, and forestry occupations.

In terms of industry, majority of the employed populace in Yucaipa are into educational, health and social services.

Of the 17,264 employed populations, 9,538 are males, and 7,726 are females. Majority of the male workers are into management, professional, and related occupations, while the female are into sales, and office occupations.
